Gregory F. Pezza, DMD, MSD
Dr. Gregory F. Pezza proudly joins in his father's dedication to provide quality, cutting-edge orthodontic treatment in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. "Dr. Greg," as he is affectionately known by his patients and staff, continues to build on the traditions of excellence started by his father. As a former patient of the office, Dr. Greg knows what it's like to wear braces and he uses that experience to help relate to his patients now.
After graduating from Bishop Hendricken High School in 1991 and Providence College in 1995, Dr. Greg moved to Boston where he began his scientific studies at Harvard University. After completing three years at Harvard, he was accepted into Boston University's School of Dental Medicine. Following in his father's footsteps, he served as President of his class. Dr. Greg completed dental school with honors in 2003, earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. That summer, he applied and was accepted into a one-year residency program for advanced general dentistry. Following this training, Dr. Greg was invited to join the clinical faculty at Boston University, where he taught third and fourth-year dental students for two years. While on the dental school faculty, he was accepted into a three-year advanced training program in orthodontics at Boston University.
In 2008, Dr. Greg graduated with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) and a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) in the specialty of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. During this three-year specialty program, Dr. Greg received extensive training in traditional orthodontic treatment, orthognathic jaw surgery and Invisalign® clear aligner treatment.
Throughout Dr. Greg's dental training, he has received various honors and awards. Boston University bestowed awards for Outstanding Achievement in Research for his master's thesis in orthodontics, and for Excellence in Patient and Practice Management. He has presented his research at national conferences and has his work published in respected journals.
Dr. Greg currently serves as the President of the Rhode Island Association of Orthodontists and is a Constituent Director of the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists. Also, he is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association. He is a member of the Providence Dental Study Club and the prestigious Seattle Study Club. He is the past-president of the Cranston Dental Society. Dr. Greg has been selected as one of "America's Top Dentists" by the Consumers' Research Council of America. He was voted by his peers as one of the "Top Orthodontists" in Rhode Island (as seen in Rhode Island Monthly magazine) every year since 2009.
Dr. Greg enjoys meeting new patients every day! He believes in spending as much time as possible during the initial consultation to fully educate his patients about the nature of their orthodontic needs and the treatment options available to them. This visit is always professional yet comfortable and friendly.
Outside of running the practice, Dr. Greg's primary focus has always been his family. He and his wife, Melissa, live in East Greenwich with their children Hayley, Zane and Taylor. Dr. Melissa is a compassionate family dentist who primarily treats children. In 2010 she created a nationally-recognized lifestyle blog which continues to expand. His kids keep him very busy at their baseball and basketball games, gymnastics competitions and musical theater performances. Dr. Greg is an expert skiier and avid traveler, can regularly be found on a golf course, pickleball court, hiking and enjoys Broadway shows and trying new local restaurants. His family inspires him everyday!
